HEY!
When I was growing up my family would celebrate the Christmas season for 37 days. I remember my friends being excited for Christmas day, but in my family, we were excited for the whole month! We would light candles and tell stories during the 24 days of Advent leading up to Christmas day. Then over the 12 Days of Christmas (which take place starting on Christmas day) we would open one gift a day to continue celebrating the season as we approached Epiphany. That’s when my father, Doug, first started calling that season, The 37 Days of Christmas.
Let me help by listing it out for you.
- 24 Days of Advent. December 1-24. Anticipating the coming Messiah
- 12 Days of Christmas. December 25 – January 5. Celebrating nativity, Jesus being born a native of the earth
- 1 Epiphany. January 6. Celebrating that Jesus is the Savior of every person, every nation and every race
- 24 + 12 + 1 = The 37 Days of Christmas
It wasn’t until I was a little older that I learned that for every advent season since 1977 my father, Doug, has written a new song about the incarnation of Jesus.
Now, like my father, I am a songwriter. We’ve collected some of our favorite songs that we’ve written over the years that we want to share with you.
Everything song we write could be called a “Christmas song” because they tell stories about the world celebrating Jesus coming to earth. I know that sounds a little corny… But what I am really trying to say is that we are passionate about sharing the story of Jesus’ life through our music.

Day 36 of 37 Days of Christmas 2025 – For The Lord Is God

His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.” (Psalm 100:5) The chorus comes straight from that promise. The verses come from Psalm 100—and from a holy, unforgettable afternoon in a… Read more
