I’ve written at least one Christmas song every year since I was 23 years old. 4 decades ago.
Some of these songs were recorded on an album entitled “The Visitation”. 3 decades ago.
Since the recording of The Visitation, I’ve given an annual Holiday concert, A Season Visited, as part of my family’s celebration of Jesus coming to earth.
Each day last year during the 37 Days of Christmas, I sent out “glimpses” of these lyrics to my home church as devotionals to help us focus on the incarnation of God – when Jesus visited us on earth. 220 decades ago.
Each day this year, with the help of my son and fellow musician, Trailand Eltzroth, I will release a “whisper” of a song (a demo of the song for you to listen to) and more than just glimpses of the lyrics but stories surrounding the songs, lead sheets, chord charts…
Next year we will release more “professional” recordings of the songs, stories, blogs, to help us celebrate the 37 Days of Christmas as we continue to celebrate The Visitation – Gloria in excelsis Deo.
